The following document outlines some of the key how's and why's of the
Lucid Programming language, developed by Bill Wadge and Ed Ashcroft.
The LucidPrimer provides an introduction (in parts somewhat toungue-in-cheek) to the Lucid language and the Lucid approach to dataflow. It is taken from the first chapter of Lucid, the Dataflow Programming Language. Academic Press, London, 1985, 310 pp. (c) Academic Press 1985.
Disclaimer: the language Lucid described here, is the older, one-dimensional language which has since evolved into the multidimensional Indexical Lucid language at the heart of GLU.
